Skull jewellery is once again popular. The young hang skull pendants on their phones and bags, celebrities wear skull rings. Originally skulls were only a Buddhist thing. To Buddhists' they remind of the drive to Nevada, preventing time wasted building ego, which is useless upon death. Skulls show that life is temporary, and are a symbol that we're all flirting with death -  representing a quest to survive and be careful - explaining why pirates fly the skull and cross bones.
