These glow in the dark beads are great for making a Rosary that you can see with the light out. The glow will appear to be brightening the more adapted your eyes become in the dark. Charge the beads up with daylight first, and they will glow for hours.
Although there are rocks, called Hackmanite that naturally glow in the dark, these are made from glass and a harmless phosphor, like Strontium Aluminate.
Glass beads are popular because glass is a cheaper alternative to crystal, and available in more shapes, styles and colour. Most glass beads are made from dichroic or lampwork glass. Glass is made from sand, being quartz - so metaphysical properties are similar to crystal.
